Inspiring Bullying Quotes so you know you’re not alone

inspiring_bullying_quotesToday I decided to feature some quotes about bullying prevention that I think are inspiring.

Here are the lyrics to a song by Simple Plan:
“No, you don’t know what it’s like / When nothing feels all right
You don’t know what it’s like / To be like me
To be hurt / To feel lost / To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you’re down / To feel like you’ve been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down / And no one’s there to save you
No, you don’t know what it’s like / Welcome to my life”

Simple Plan

Thich Nhat Hanh is a Buddhist monk who now lives in France. He is a teacher, author and poet. The following quote by Thich Nhat Hanh helps you empathize with the person responsible for the meanness of bullying:

“When another person makes you suffer, it is because he suffers deeply within himself, and his suffering is spilling over. He does not need punishment; he needs help. That’s the message he is sending.”
Thich Nhat Hanh

Imagine if you’d been in a terrible accident and you needed surgery. Lynette Mather’s quote is an interesting take on that scenario:
“What if the kid you bullied at school, grew up and turned out to be the only surgeon who could save your life?” Lynette Mather

Is the character of a bullied person stronger because of the bullying they have endured? This is Zack W. Van’s opinion:
“Bullying builds character like nuclear waste creates superheroes. It’s a rare occurrence and often does much more damage than endowment.” Zak W. Van

In dealing with group bullying, Theodore White says:

To go against the dominant thinking of your friends,
Of most of the people you see every day,
Is perhaps the most difficult act of heroism you can perform.
Theodore H. White

Humor and laughter is how some people survive being bullied. Sometimes it even prevents people from being bullied. Read what Mark Twain says about humor:
“The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter.” Mark Twain

Remain confident in your own self. Constantly grow your self-esteem and feed your own needs so you can ultimately help others. Jonathan Davis says:

“I don’t care what people think or say about me, I know who I am.” Jonathan Davis

In this powerful quote, Dr. Wayne Dyer said:

“What other people think of me is none of my business.” Dr. Wayne Dyer

As a presenter, this quote had a big impact on me and it definitely changed my way of thinking about the opinions of others.

“Stand up and make your mark, stand up and speak your part.
When you see a kid put down, you can help if you’re around,
Never approve of the slam, say you think that it’s wrong
Have the nerve to speak up, let them know that you’re strong,
Stand Up.”
Bruce Langford

I hope these quotes have given you some food for thought and have inspired you today.
